Wage Subsidies

Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers + Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy

The Canadian Federal Government has two programs to subsidize the cost of eligible employees for qualifying entities in response to COVID-19:

The Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers (TWSE) is law under Bill C-13, and generally provides a subsidy of 10% of eligible remuneration in the form of reduced payroll remittances.

The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) is law under Bill C-14, and generally provides a subsidy of 75% of eligible remuneration for entities with a revenue decrease compared to prior reference periods.

As this legislation is considerably complex and subject to interpretation, we recommend that you to engage a professional who has studied the subject to confirm your eligibility.

These worksheets do not determine eligibility for any wage subsidy program for any entity, period, or employee. These worksheets have not been reviewed or approved by the Canada Revenue Agency, and details are subject to change.
